No visa required for US Citizens for a Tourist stay up to 6 months, nor is a visa required for transit through this destination.

For business travel to the UK to participate in anything other than basic business meetings, a Business Visit Visa is required for U.S passports if the trip is not for basic business visits

Passport Requirements:

Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s).

This change will bring the enrolment process in the United States in line with that currently in place across the rest of the world. This policy change is designed to protect children and safeguard against identity theft. Captured images will be printed on visas and used to produce Biometric Residence Permits, where applicable.

Confirmed round-trip or onward airline ticket.

• Visa Application Form:  One visa application form per applicant, plus one copy. The Consulate of the United Kingdom has introduced a web-based visa application form; https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome applicants must follow the step by step instructions and pay visas fee online.  Important Information: Upon completion of the online visa application form, the applicant will be prompted to schedule an appointment to submit biometric information. Please note that there might not be a time available immediately. You will need to take your receipt and passport to the appointment. This biometric information consists of scans of all 10 fingers and a full-face digital photograph. Minor applicants under 5 years are required to attend a biometric appointment to have their photo taken. After you receive the completion stamp from this appointment, you can submit application materials to Passport Rush. The visa application must be submitted no earlier than 24-36 hours after and no later than 2 weeks after biometric submission.
  

• Passport Photos:  Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/white background.
  

• Letter Of Invitation from sponsor (either host company or individual) in the United Kingdom explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, full address of the inviting company and contact information.
  

• Business Letter:  Letter from employer or sponsoring company in the US, on company letterhead showing full company address, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant's employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to the United Kingdom. Business activities in the United Kingdom must include detailed and specific information. The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in the United Kingdom.

• Other Requirements:  Evidence of any previous dealings with the UK company, such as business meetings, email conversations, company activities or invoices. *Optional
  

• Passport Rush can submit British visa applications for priority processing only, which requires a priority fee payment, that must be paid directly through VFS service.  This fee is in addition to the fee paid directly on the application form. Visa validity will be for a period of up to 3 years, at the discretion of the consulate.

Visa Processing Time

Visas are usually processed in 5-7 working days. 

In order to ensure that visa applications for most embassies/consulates are submitted on the day that we receive them, they should be shipped to us via FedEx Priority Overnight (not First Overnight or Standard Overnight).

Non-refundable tickets or reservations should not be purchased until all visas and passports are secured and in your possession.
