Suriname

Suriname, officially the Republic of Suriname, is a country in northern South America.  Suriname is situated between French Guiana to the east and Guyana to the west. The southern border is shared with Brazil and the northern border is the Atlantic coast. The southernmost borders with French Guiana and Guyana are disputed along the Marowijne and Corantijn rivers, respectively; while a part of the disputed maritime boundary with Guyana was arbitrated by the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea on September 20, 2007.

Required Items/Steps Checklist

# Description
1 Passport Requirements: Send us your original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s). The Amendment pages in the back of the passport can't be used for visa stamp.
2 Visa Application Form: Two visa application forms per applicant properly completed and signed. Signature must be original on each application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.
3 Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/light background. (snapshots are not accepted).
4 For Business Travelers:  Business Letter - Letter from employer or sponsoring company, (addressed to the consulate of Suriname) on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to Suriname. The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in host country
5 Proof of Departure: Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline tickets.
6 Minors: The followings documents are required to support the visa application of a child to enter Suriname:
-Birth Certificate showing the names of both parents;
-Photocopy of legal documents pertaining to custody, ( if applicable);
-Notarized letter of consent (when applicable):
     a) If child is travelling with one parent, the letter of consent authorizing travel must be notarized by the other parent;
     b) If child is travelling alone or without either parent, a notarized the letter of consent from both parents permitting travel;
-Death Certificate, in case one or both parents are deceased.
7 Complete the Passport Rush Service Order Form You must include a copy of this form with all other supporting documents. (NOTE: Consular fees are NON-refundable. If visa is rejected and resubmitted new consular fees will apply).

Visa Validity

Visas are usually valid for up to one year based on the consulate’s discretion. How to read a Suriname visa.

Visa Processing Time

Visas are usually processed in 5 business days. Rush service may be available under certain circumstances, at the discretion of the consulate.

 

In order to ensure that visa applications for most embassies/consulates are submitted on the day that we receive them, they should be shipped to us via FedEx Priority Overnight (not First Overnight or Standard Overnight).

Non-refundable tickets or reservations should not be purchased until all visas and passports are secured and in your possession.
